http > https - Should Google Analytics be updated?

Discussions of secure PHP coding. Security in software is important, so don't be afraid to ask. And when answering: be anal. Nitpick. No security vulnerability is too small.

http > https - Should Google Analytics be updated?

Post by simonmlewis »

We are looking to upgrade a site form http to https. It's a Wordpress site and we will use Let's Encrypt to do it.

Updating it takes very little time, and we are told we need to Add a Property to Webmasters and add the new sitemap.

But in Google Analytics (GA), do I need to go to the property and change the http dropdown to https, or will GA do it automatically as it reindexes the site?

Love PHP. Love CSS. Love learning new tricks too.
All the best from the United Kingdom.

GA is automatic, I run my own server so there are a few steps to install a certificate
